World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I stayed up to watch up last night's games - worth it for the drama.
I've never seen a keeper save a penalty in a shootout the way that Bounou did from Summerville. To walk across the goalline and just reach up rather than diving, what composure.

penalties are harsh, extra time is gruelling for the entire team. i recall fifa had another option a long time ago which involved taking off 1 player per team each every five minutes until one scored, would have preferred that for the drama !

And to save it on his inside because he had walked so far across. Awful penalty, bizarre save.

Got to get past Dr Congo and then possibly Mexico 1st !!!
Neither will be easy games.

Mexico will be TOUGH. 2,200m altitude is definitely enough to notice less oxygen, apparently you breathe in 20% less…

As a relatively fit 40 year old, I can def feel 2000m+ straight away. (It’s not as bad as say 3000m, but def impacts performance) Just hope pro sportsmen have some way of preparing … the usual is to acclimatise for 2-3 days and your body makes more red blood cells.

I’m nervous about tonight’s Norway game. If we win then however it goes against Brazil it could be said to be a decent tournament, but if we lose the pitchforks will come out, and it will end with a bit of a «meh» after all that build up and talk of a World Cup for 28 fudging years. Luckily, we will have the same players available to try to quality again four years from now.

Anyways, hope we play like we did against Senegal and smash em!
