The Norwegian Row is cool! Far less cheesy than Sweet Caroline lol
I wasn't sure whether to find it cool or cringey before last night's game, but now I'm sold. I've decided to like it.Yeah, I didn’t like it initially as it seemed such a blatant steal of the Icelandic thunderclap, but then I learned they stole that from Motherwell - and well, football fans copy one another all the time, so I’m just enjoying the fact that there’s a buzz around the team and that the team and the fans are bonding. Love it!
Portugal are good, could well be a contender.
Nah. fudge him. Can't stand Ronaldo and never could but I've found the pile-in on him over the last week a bit distasteful to be honest.
I heard one pundit last night say "has Messi decided the GOAT argument with Ronaldo once and for all". It's a bloody stupid question. This version of Messi, as outstanding as he still is, is nowhere near the peak of his powers. What happens now and what's happened over the last few years isn't really a factor in that conversation- if you're making a judgement on who the GOAT is, you do it when players were at their peak and both Ronaldo and Messi at their peak are very worthy contenders for the accolade.
Ronaldo shouldn't be in the Portuguese team IMO. He's a long way off it. But that's on Martinez who keeps picking him. Ronaldo is a selfish narcissist but he's always been that since he first walked into Man Utd. He's also been an absolutely incredible footballer for such a long period of time and in very different roles on the pitch - his genius and achievements shouldn't be sullied by his performances in this World Cup and, for me, people really shouldn't be making fun of him the way I've seen over the last week.
He's one of the all time greats. His longievity is amazing, similarily his adaptability - he's delivered in three of the biggest leagues + at national level for two decades. Yeah, he's a bit of an arse, but I'd love to have just a fraction of his dedication in what I do.Fair play Ronaldo. Didnt understand pundits writing him off (he’s 41, it’s impressive he’s even playing). Two great finishes.
I don’t think that last sentence has ever been uttered in the millions of debates over Ronaldo v Messi but it somehow seems fitting you’ve said it.He’s back in the game.
Good for him.
I’d have always taken him ahead of Messi as he’s so much better defensively, particularly on set pieces.
