Luka Vuskovic

Then we as a club have failed if we are not deemed a top club. We built the facilities, we built the infrastructure, we have epically failed on the footballing front. And yet the likes of Lange appear to have a job for life in spite of last season.

100%, next season we do need to stabilise but going forwards we should really be moving to a model where we consistently bring through youngsters. Thats why being in Europe is so important to have the games to do so, near enough all the best teams bring through youth players or at least use them as a way to get good transfer fees for them. A player not good enough for us that has 15-20 PL appearances is worth way more than someone who's been on loan a couple of time, we need to be better at using them as the back up players.

A team where he will get a significant rise on his current Spurs salary, play first team PL football and then likely be sold for very big money (and a comparable very big salary) to a top team 2 years later. The agent seems very good to me.

He's had a contract extension with Spurs offer on table (reportedly as part of any further loan deal) that I'm quite sure will match/better Brighton's pay. Agent looking for interest/play time is doing his job (so agree on that one)

Let’s not pretend we don’t give chances to young players. Our player of the season is 20 years old. I don’t know that he deserved the accolade but that’s a different matter.

Like every team, the chances are in certain positions, our midfield/front line is weak, so younger players get more of a chance there. I 100% agree with Vuskovic, if the option is play all games somewhere else at 19, or fight with Romero (still here for now), VDV, Danso & Senesi, makes sense to take the loan/move elsewhere.

Personally think Brighton is fudging trolling (talk that they made a similar bid for one of Chelsea's youth talents) and some of the media/aggregators is milking it.

Yep they didn’t with Colwill as part of the negotiations for Caicedo.

We decided to give Vuskovic a loan thinking that that was the best move for his future so that he was getting first team football. Maybe we had agreed with him previously to let him play at Hamburg as clearly there are close connections there.

It’s what happens next that’s key. I would like him to be getting starts for us and for him to prove he’s ready. But if he doesn’t want to fight for his place in the starting lineup, if, maybe that speaks volumes about his mentality. I don’t know. Let’s see what happens from here as right now there’s a lot of talk and that’s about it.

There’s a lot of talk about a lot of players each summer. That’s how the media works to earn their summer money. But a low percentage of that amounts to anything. So let’s see and hopefully the fears are allayed and he stays with us and is introduced into the full squad.

Brighton has a better reputation than Spurs for young players. Nothing to argue about there. We dont give chances to our academy players.

There is a pathway for him if he performs again on loan next season.

Danso will have a couple of years left on his contract and could be sold on to make a space for him to come in.

First-world problems…Being able to choose between an established pro who will be entering his prime and a younger option with a sky high ceiling…for our 4th choice CB option!

Or more that we haven't produced academy players of the required level. It's not like there's a stream of academy players that have gone elsewhere and been a big success. Even the likes of Skipp got plenty of chances and turned out to not be good enough.

I don't see why he can't start for us, I mean sheesh Rooney was 16, Ronaldo (I think) was 17 - if their good enough, then they are good enough. And this lad certainly seems good enough.

I haven't really been impressed with vuskovic and gvardiol. I don't think they are owning the middle at all. A few times Vuskovic went for a short pass instead of pushing the ball into the channels to start an attack.

I don't think he is ready for this pace football

Thought he was poor for Bellinghams goal, ran away from the ball to cover the run, but it opened up the space for Bellingham to head into. Naivety more than anything.

Seems comfortable on the ball and physically not many will beat him

From the comments , I have not watched a single match in this world cup and didn't watch this one , assume the lad is not ready for the PL so more loans would seem the best answer for him.
