Sandro Tonali

I get what youre saying but there's a huge drop off from bentancur and Palhinha. I still feel we need a better ball carrier

I think we have plenty of carriers, we need more passers - especially those who can receive the ball facing our goal and turn and retain possession then lay it off.

Never heard of him?

Like I said, the player he's most similar to is Declan Rice. How people anaylse Rice's game is up to them.

When Bruno G plays with him. At Milan and when Bruno does not play he becomes the deeper player who’s controlling the tempo. Is a great passer especially with the long ball.

Nathan is a genuine data nerd who loves Spurs. He hasn't always been wrong. He's a brilliant analyst. I don't think I agree that Tonali can't pass. I agree that position isn't a priority.

People are turning their noses up at Tonali as if we’re in a position to sign someone significantly better. It’s ridiculous.

No matter who we sign, there always seems to be a section of the fanbase ready to complain. People moan that we invest too heavily in youth and say we need more proven Premier League players. Then when we’re linked with experienced players, they’re suddenly “too old”. We sign someone like Robertson and that’s the criticism. Now we’re being linked with Tonali, who is comfortably one of the better midfielders in the Premier League, and people are moaning about that as well.

I’m genuinely not sure what some fans want. It feels like the club is fighting a losing battle in the transfer market because every target gets criticised regardless of who it is. If we sign young players, they’re too inexperienced. If we sign established players, they’re too old. If we sign top-level Premier League talent, they’re apparently not good enough.

At some point, people need to be realistic about the level of player we can attract and recognise a good signing when they see one.
yeah and that's fair though, you can't please anyone and what the fans think doesn't matter at all - its just an illusion.

the fact is tonali is a good player and Saudi Sportswashing Machine have no need to sell, and if they do, not cheaply because their owners are rich.
That last part is important because THFC under ENIC have never paid top dollar for top players like pool, man u, Emirates Marketing Project and arsenal have - so this is at best HOPEFUL, under new management and direction.
