Transfer thread

@robp135 if you look at that, and listen to rumours

I suspect back line and midfield plan is clear, with probably at least one goalscorer added in wings (Gakpo/Rashford)

I am also beginning to think the CF position just isn't going to change (so no sales of Richi/Solanke) outside of maybe a punt type purchase (young/promising on the cheap), maybe that's for next summer?

The next week should be interesting, 30th June has been mentioned as the date when some teams need to shift players for the current accounting period to meet PSR (or whatever it is now). Chelsea for example are one team that are rumoured to need to sell 100m worth by then or some crazy amount!

Might see a few deals pushed through this week. I assume some teams will also be fine this season and prefer sales to happen after June and fall in the next season accounts, so maybe some deals magically appear done from 1st July etc.

Will be the usual Chelsea-Villa-Saudi Sportswashing Machine-Forest circle selling of youth team players at 20+m a pop…

Richy has one year left, we should absolutely sell him to get something for him towards someone else otherwise he goes on a free in 1 years time.

He'll see out his contract and go back to Brazil on a free. I don't think he has inclination to do anything else. We need to sell Solanke to bring someone better in

This might be controversial on here but if Chelsea need to sell a few desperately, then I would try to get Nicholas Jackson from them. He misses lots of chances like Andy Cole used to but, as with Andy Cole, he also creates himself lots of chances with his excellent movement,

Jackson is much quicker and more mobile than what we have. And probably about the same on finishing. Perhaps we could swap him for Bergvall as Chelsea want him?

So we should blame a coach for a professional player having a crap ethic and attitude.

Anyway, isn't everything the fault of Lange? We're probably looking in the wrong place to allocate blame. :tearsofjoy:

Well more has been leaking out (via Gallagher and Bergvall) about Frank's seeming complete incompetence with man management

The Gallagher comment was re Tudor I believe. Though your overall point still stands for me, sounds like VDV wanted out under Frank but changed his mind now he’s worked a few weeks under a proper manager.

I think he could have been under a coach who motivated him
He got three different coaches in one season - including one who had worked with him at Juventus - and there wasn't much difference in terms of performance.

That's why Ronaldo is such an exceptional player: gifted footballers rarely have to push their limits. Palinha and Richarlison are useful in a relegation dogfight because they already had to fight hard to get to that level. When the going gets tough, you want people like them in your team. From day one, it was clear that Muani couldn't care less. He couldn't find a club so he took the loan we offered and when things went pear-shaped, he lost any interest.

Cost him his place in the France team. Serves him well.
