Cannot help feeling guilty just watching that. Respect to Verts for speaking out. Just hope he's going to be okay in the future.

Authorities need to introduce forthwith free substitutes for all head collision cases where appropriate and, if not already in place, for independent doctors to be on hand with the power to overrule both player and officials if they conclude that's in the player's best interest.

Absolutely! And it's not as if they have to invent the wheel again! The blueprints are already there, from NHL and other hockey leagues, Rugby, NFL, Baseball and more.
Not really difficult, unless you're incompetent enoght to get a job at FIFA/UEFA.

Long-running concussion syndrome seems to be a pre-requisite for them to hire someone.
